Last Days

Her burning beauty has long become an eternal mark on my life.

5/14 SHIP DEPARTS CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA
Jenny and I flew to South Africa. Because the flight was delayed for one day, the plane arrived at 11 am, and the cruise ship departed at 3 pm. We rented a taxi at the airport and went to “Rainbow Street” in Cape Town and saw beautiful penguins at Boulders Beach, which Jenny had planned for us to visit.

5/16 WALVIS BAY, NAMIBIA

Since we missed the opportunity to play golf in Cape Town, we learned from the driver during our stop in Namibia that there is a golf course here. After many twists and turns, we played 18 holes of golf in a very short time. Jenny still swung the club in the same elegant way, and the two caddies who accompanied us were amazed. Jenny was so happy.

…………

On this street, Jenny and I were holding hands and preparing to cross the road from behind a car parked on the left. Suddenly, a young man on a motorcycle rushed over from the left… Twenty minutes later, an ambulance took Jenny to the best local military hospital. Five hours later… the doctor told me… my Jenny… my dear Jenny… was gone…
That moment was the darkest, saddest, coldest moment in my life. Jenny, who held my hand every day and walked with me through every street… had left this world forever… Oh my God… the sky has fallen… the ground has sunk… this world is so cruel… my beautiful, pure, kind Jenny… how could she leave me like this…
…
She left with a smile… peacefully… She went to another world, a place that gave her a new life…

Just two hours ago, our lovely daughter CiCi and I placed her in a maroon coffin—that was her favorite furniture color. She lay there peacefully, just like she did every night beside me… With the police as a witness, we sealed everything… She will fly back to Tampa, Florida via Paris on Air France… the home she loved so much… the golf course she loved… the children in our beloved music classroom… the world she once loved so much…
My Jenny… I told my daughter: When the day comes that I will leave this world, please place me beside her. In the other world, I will still take care of her and hold her hand… forever, forever…
My Jenny, your flaming beauty has become an eternal mark in my life… forever, forever…
Rest in peace…my dear Jenny…
